Springfield North End tour
(Hampden County, MA) Independent candidate for District Attorney, Mark Mastroianni, will be taking a walking tour through Springfield’s Ward One with Springfield City Councilor, Zaida Luna.
They will walk street to street on June 22, 2010 beginning at 1:30 p.m. from Medina’s Market located at 2705 Main Street in the North End of Springfield.
“It is no secret this is one of the areas of Springfield identified by community and business leaders as well as the Police Department as having a higher percentage of criminal activity. As a former Assistant District Attorney, I know it is essential to have direct contact with any community that is experiencing problems every day.” Said Mastroianni.
“To find real solutions to existing problems in this neighborhood you have to find out first-hand what is going on. This is the best way to help improve the quality of life for the residents and businesses in Ward One and to improve the perception of Springfield throughout the city and county. It is essential for a safer city, for any hope of future economic development in this part of Springfield and to promote the positive aspects of the neighborhood.” Stated Mastroianni.
“ Mark Mastroianni’s campaign literature is printed in Spanish so that people here know now what his goals are as our next District Attorney. He wants to communicate directly with our community. He wants a direct dialogue now and when he is District Attorney. I am glad to show him some important areas of Ward One that will need his attention.” Said Luna.
